PRC Insurance Town Hall – to be held virtually on Thursday, October 30th (3–5 PM)

We’re continuing our series of Insurance Town Halls to address one of the most complex and pressing issues in our recovery: insurability as we rebuild. Join us for the second of four community-wide conversations, featuring experts from:

Mercury Insurance, United Policyholders, Venbrook Insurance Services, The Passive House Network, and the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS). This virtual session will explore what it means to be insurable in Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zones (VHFHSZs) like ours, and what residents can do now to improve coverage, build resilience, and strengthen risk mitigation.

For discussion:

  • Commitments from insurers to stay in fire-prone regions
  • The new landscape of risk assessment and premium fairness
  • Practical steps toward building an insurable home
